Learn to Earn: Educational Sponsorship Program

About the Program

As an international education company with a strong CSR focus, the Learn to Earn program is one way ILSC Education Group contributes its expertise and financial support back to the community.

In 2010, ILSC-New Delhi created a program to provide educational scholarships, including English language lessons, life skills training to underprivileged Indian young women and girls, with an aim to increase their economic opportunities. Although administered locally in New Delhi, the LTE Program is a team effort across all of ILSC, with every campus taking part in fundraising support and cooperative projects.

We gratefully accept sponsorship contributions from generous individuals and organizations that believe the transformative power of education as strongly as we do, and want to contribute to a life-changing educational experience with far-reaching positive impacts for some of the most economically depressed communities in India.
Contributions can be made by cheque, money order or online credit card, and Canadian sponsors are eligible for a charitable tax receipt through our registered Canadian charity, Community Evolution Foundation.

Who the Program Supports

Learn to Earn program participants are young women and girls from Delhi and surrounding areas.  Candidates are chosen based on financial need and leadership potential, with the ultimate goal of providing them the skills they need to obtain stable, gainful employment in education, hospitality and service sectors.

Candidates are typically excellent students with a strong potential for success, but who are unable to obtain the education, work or English language skills which would allow them to apply for better paying work.

In the economically-depressed communities where Learn to Earn students typically live, a lack of education often forces them to take manual labour, or other low paying jobs in order to support their families and younger siblings. By providing specialized language and job skills, the LTE program can help participants to become an important breadwinner for their family.

Stories of Transformation

As of 2017, more than 84 students have participated in the program, and the ripple effects of their participation have spread beyond their own lives, in the form of support for their extended families and local communities.
